Every parent knows that taking little children out to eat can be difficult at best. After all, they’re too young to understand how to conduct themselves in public.

That’s what happened to a mom from Greensboro, North Carolina, whose toddler started to make a fuss at Olive Garden. Courtney Pedigo was out with her dad, stepmother, and 18-month-old daughter Harlynn to have some dinner, but her little girl was not going to make it easy for her. That’s when their waitress stepped in to save the day.

Courtney shared the incident on Facebook:

“Tonight my family and I went out to Olive Garden for dinner, and per Harlynn’s usual she did everything but sit in her high chair and eat her dinner like I picture in my dreams. She had me so overwhelmed from letting all of Olive Garden know she was in the house and trying her best to wiggle her way down me to run the restaurant, I had went to find our waitress to ask if she could please bring my food out in a Togo box cause we were going out to sit in the car … She really said NO.”

But waitress Nianni Rudder was not having that. She told Courtney that Harlynn wasn’t bothering anyone.

According to Courtney, the waitress said that she shouldn’t worry about anything and all she needs to do is to enjoy her dinner. Rudder brought Harlynn a bowl of ice cream with caramel syrup and, while Harlynn wouldn’t let the waitress hold her, she sat in Courtney’s lap and allowed the young waitress to feed her.

The 24-year-old mom enthusiastically said:

“I ACTUALLY GOT TO EAT MY FOOD WHILE IT WAS STILL HOTT!!!!!”

Rudder ended up sitting with Courtney and her family for about 20 minutes. She said that Courtney “came out to enjoy a meal with her family, and she should be able to do that.”
