‘Little Red’ 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Turns Up In Texas After 50 Years

It’s official! Green Hornet’s rare sister has been found.

The almost-most-expensive Mustang to be ever bought in an auction, the 1968 Shelby EXP 500 Green Hornet, apparently has a sister named “Little Red.” The legendary vehicle has now been found and it could be worth a ridiculous amount of money!

The experimental Ford Shelby Prototype was discovered in a North Texas field this past spring after spending at least two decades outdoors. The owner wasn’t aware that he had the near-mythical first Mustang Shelby GT500 rusting away on his property.

Shelby’s Little Red prototype GT500 EXP, is considered the “Holy Grail” of lost collector cars – and its finally been located!

The Little Red’s last appearance was when it was a model for Ford’s popular 1968 Mustang California Special before it was moved to storage and presumably lost. What’s left of the neglected prototype was located and verified on March 3, 2018.

Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction Company, Shell and Pennzoil unveiled Little Red in front of a shocked crowd at the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn, Michigan, inviting the experts to inspect the car and help fill in gaps in its history.

Little Red is the only GT500 coupe (hardtop) built by Shelby American.

Jackson said:

“Finding Little Red is the discovery of a lifetime … This Shelby prototype has been one of the most sought-after and elusive vehicles in postwar history. Countless enthusiasts and experts have searched for Little Red since it went missing in the 1960s. Many believed it was destroyed when the car was no longer needed. I’m excited to announce that was not the case. We’ve found Little Red, and we intend to meticulously restore this legendary car back to its original glory.”

Little Red is the second GT500 coupe to be serialized and completed.

Jackson and classic car restoration specialist Jason Billups led the team that discovered Little Red. The quest began during the restoration of the other legendary Shelby prototype coupe, named the Green Hornet.

The team was able to verify that this is indeed the missing experimental coupe with the assistance from renowned Ford Mustang expert Kevin Marti. The authenticity was also checked using cross-references, serial numbers, date codes and other confidential documents.

The 135km undersea railway tunnel is expected to be 3½ longer than Channel Tunnel, currently the world’s longest at 37.9km.

Chinese scientists are taking steps towards building a massive undersea railway tunnel. Once completed, it will connect mainland China to Taiwan – and it will be the world’s longest ever.

According to the South China Morning Post, the multi-billion-yuan project is expected to have shuttle trains “whizzing through a 135km undersea section of the tunnel at up to 250km/h by 2030.”

The tunnel “will be one of the largest and most challenging civil engineering projects in the 21st century,” said a government scientist who refused to be named.

New Invention Soft Robot Spiders Could Be The Future Of Medical Science

How would you feel having these little robots operating inside your body?

By

To many of us, spiders are the freaks of nature and they creep the living soul out of us. However, a team of researchers from Boston and Harvard developed a spider-like soft-robotics system which will help improve medical procedures, taking inspiration from a real-life Australian spider.

The soft robot invention is designed to help with sutures in surgeries. They could be deployed into small spaces and delicate situations.

These arachnid-inspired robots only measure a few centimeters in size.
