Falling in love is such a complicated feeling. One minute you can’t wait to spend the rest of your life with the person that you love, the next minute you can’t stand them at all.
Have you ever thought that your feeling towards the relationship might not be your partner’s fault but probably your readiness to it? Here are six reasons why you should love yourself first before falling in love.
#1. It’s not all the time that you meet someone worth falling for.
So when you finally found that person, you give everything without leaving anything for yourself. However, when the relationship didn’t work out, you end up being completely broken. But if you love yourself first, you will have the strength to pick up the pieces and the confidence to move on.
#2. Sometimes, we see ourselves as unworthy of love.
So if you don’t love yourself first, you’ll feel that you don’t need to wait for the perfect person that you deserve. Instead, you’ll end up settling with whoever that gives you the tiniest attention.
#3. People who are in a relationship are not expecting their partners to be perfect.
But if you don’t love yourself first, you will see your flaws as a hindrance in your romance. You will think that all arguments are your fault. You’ll feel that you’re the reason why things just can’t seem to work out.
#4. The only constant thing in this world is change.
If you don’t love yourself first, you will alway have that fear being left behind because your happiness relies on other people.
#5. Not many would admit to this, but insecurities always play a significant part in a relationship.
But if you love yourself first, you’ll be confident enough to know that you deserve someone who sees your worth.
#6. You need to focus on yourself first.
This line says it all:
“To deepen your love and acceptance of another, first develop love and acceptance for yourself.”

Instead, Starbucks will be using “plastic lids designed for use without a straw or with non-plastic straws,” a BBC report tells us. So far, reactions have been mixed about the company’s initiative.
