While most 1-year-old kids couldn’t speak yet, one child from Florida, USA has already developed a lifesaving skill – swimming! Mother of two Grace Fanelli wanted her children to learn swimming at a young age and this video proves to everyone that, yes, it’s never too early to acquire the skill.
In fact, a Unilad article tells us that Grace’s daughters started swimming when they were merely 9 months old. Currently, her eldest child is already 3 years old while the youngest is one.
The viral video shows us the 1-year-old girl enjoying herself in the pool as you graciously swims from one side to another. The child is obviously fearless and well-trained!
According to Grace:
“Drowning is the number one leading cause of injury-related deaths in infants and children under the age of five. They can start learning how to swim as young as six months of age.
“Please teach your kids how to swim so they can save themselves until help arrives. For those of you who have asked, my youngest daughter was 12 months old at the time of this video and my oldest was only 3 years old.
“They both learned to swim starting at nine months old from our swim instructor, Brigitte Strickland, who specializes in infant and child survival swim.”
In Strickland’s website named AquaMinnies, we read:
“Our infant swim lessons are based upon a gentle and caring approach that focuses on creating fun, positive experiences for babies which will not only help them to develop physically but also emotionally, intellectually and socially while equipping them with key safety skills in the water.”
Of course, netizens couldn’t help but feel fascinated while watching the little child move around the pool with confidence and ease.
“That is truly amazing,” one wrote, while another commented “How awesome but I gotta tell you as I was watching it made me feel uneasy!”

Every shared photo on Instagram doesn't really tell us the whole story. With every perfect shot comes a series of filters to create that Instagram-worthy photo.
Parenting bloggers from the UK know this fact more than anyone else. Here's what really happens behind these bloggers' IG posts.
Behind every perfectly plated cake is a child throwing a tantrum, but of course, it's not in the photo.
